EDIT: considering I just spammed and didn't realize it--I don't know what we should do in the Iraq situation. It's a huge shit sandwich. Ideally I'd like to get out solely because I know I don't want to be over there, so why should the armed forces be over there?

Yes or no Well, since the U.S. Senate is voting on this very issue tonight- I thought I would reply to this.
I believe there are too many factors involved to make this a yes or no question/answer.
The real question should be: how will this decision ultimately affect the future of the U.S. , its allies, the world, & the brave men & women and their families who gave thier lives to bring "freedom" to Iraq.
Oil, wich is required for the mechanical machines of the major powers of the world have built up desert nomadic tribes to some of the richest empires on the planet because of the black gold that is under their feet.
These powers are ultimatley responsible for the misallocation of funds to terrorist organizations who's goals are to dominate, control & terrorize the world. Until the world stop's relying on natural resources located in foreign countries, we are going to have terrorist regime's plotting/attacking against the U.S. , forcing us to go in and clean up the mess that we had a part in creating.
Jesus-did I say that? who am I?

U.S. troops will remain in Iraq. U.S. troops will remain in Iraq.
Senate Republicans on Wednesday scuttled a Democratic proposal ordering troop withdrawals from Iraq in a showdown that capped an all-night debate on the war.
The 52-47 vote fell short of the 60 votes needed to cut off debate under Senate rules. It was a sound defeat for Democrats who say the U.S. military campaign, in its fifth year and requiring 158,000 troops, cannot tame the sectarian violence in Iraq.
xSTSxSpartan- 07-19-2007
Do you think we should be over there apache?
apache000- 07-19-2007
Yes When I see the lives of American Families that are destroyed because they lost their young son's or daughter's fighting for the freedom of a people/society that are so screwed up it may be impossible to accomplish that goal, It makes me very, very angry because it is also erroding and dividing our country.
For this reason I would say NO.
For the plain and simple fact that Americans have given their lives over there and pulling out now (without accomplishing democracy) would mean that they died for nothing- I cant allow that. We started a job there (albeit possibly under false pretense or for reason of vendetta) we need to finish the job we started. Unfortunately, we may be needing the Iraqi foothold for Iranian incursions in the near future. A good percentage of Iranian weaopns supplies are the reason our soldiers are still being killed.
Ultimately, and at this time , my decision is to stay in Iraq until the job is done.
