I dont know about the rest of you but I think the average FPS REALLY sucks. Halo set the bar and BF2 is amazing but what others out there are worth purchasing? I like smooth controls and relativeley open environments. COD was great but too confined on live. I would like to be able to set up PRIVATE matches with friends. I also dont like how in Halo I can get 30 kills in a game and carry my team whereas in BF2 it takes teamwork. IDK...I am in need of a new game to be addicted to.... maybe Ace Combat 6 will be next?

lol buy a gaming pc--that is the best bet for good fps. i wish i had one; then i would i be playing BF2: The Real Deal. PC is totally different from the console version and that's exactly why i would prefer BF2142 or BF2 over BF2MC

F.E.A.R was a pretty awesome FPS

Counter-Strike BF2 are my favorite FPS. Call of Duty 2 was a good game but it needed 16 players for live like it used to have back in the day (if you knew the glitch to get it to work) the games were too small.

I guess I am just picky...I played FEAR and didnt like it... as far as gaming PC's go , can you play with a controller or do you have to do the mouse and keyboard thing?

actually--you won't want to play with a controller in the longrun. using a mouse and keyboard gives you tons more accuracy than a thumb-stick. i.e. on shadowrun.. i hear that console users have auto-aim to compensate for an overall gap in performance compared to the PC users having the mouse. if you ever play games like Quake, you'll understand this. especially on the few remaining Quake II servers (after.. over a decade?) there are some gods out there that cannot be touched because they will kill you first--with any weapon and very quickly. mouse > thumb-stick

Rainbow Six, FPS RB6 is pretty good if you aren't lagging and the teams are balanced. It'll seem like you're shooting blanks at first though until one learns to control the recoil on those guns... :lol:

I think Call of Duty 4 has the tools to be one of those games youll be playing 5 years from now. Kind of like Halo:Combat evolved. Halo 2 & 3 suck though IMO

i hate player hosted online experiences tho. Servers make the playing field much more equal and the game overall is more stable. except in the case of electronic arts of course.

I guess I am just picky...I played FEAR and didnt like it... as far as gaming PC's go , can you play with a controller or do you have to do the mouse and keyboard thing? You can most deffinatly use a controller but you have to do some tweaking with a game profiler to get it to work really well. I play bf2 on the pc every day of the week and I use a 360 controller. I used to use a mouse but a couple of my friends on there are in the top 50 in the game and they use controllers so i let them talk me into trying it and after tweaking some settings using a program called pinnacle profiler. I have given up the mouse except for sniping. I use a flightstick for flying though. Never thought Id like a controller more than a mouse on pc bf2 but now its all I use. You can use pinnacle to also set up a shift button system which lets you switch weapons and throw granades way faster than a key board. You can also program button combinations and thats just amazing ! I have some moves set up where I'm just unstoppable. As for the whole shadowrun thing it was the other way around the pc people got their butts kicked so bad that they put the aimbot cranked up to help them out. I know I was in the first 20 people in the cloased part of the beta way before it turned into a public beta and actually was in some of the games when they talked about how to fix the problem. In my opinion it really depends on if the came was coded for a controller or a mouse from the start of the programing. Take counterstrike for example you can't play that game with a controller to save your ass , its mouse or die left and right. FFOW is going to be the next great game I just finished 4 months of the the closed beta for it and it is almost ready for the store. Thq just made the beta a open beta this last week so you can get it a file planet right now. I can't believ how far that game has come in the last 4 or 5 months. WE fixed alot of bug in that game !
